Richard McGrath fron Doneraile, County Cork, migrated to Australia as a free man in 1838. In 1839 he married Mary Mahoney a convict also from Doneraile. Anyone with connections to either? |

Didnt know anything about the McGrath name till now it was cool to read that McGraths were known for writing poetry and singing and thats what I do I wright and sing just cool to see its apart of my ansestry thanks for all the hard work that went into the creation of this site. |

Peter McGrath was born approx. 1802. He was convicted at Roscommon and sentenced to 10 years transportation. Peter was 45 years old and was sent to Bermuda on the Medway then on to Hobart on the Neptune. In 1854 he married Margaret Sullivan. He was 50 years old and a widower. They had three children. Peter McGrath died in Hobart in 1877. |
