Welcome to the Clan McGrath website
New Search function added

As part of a project to develop a genealogical system for the members of Clan McGrath, we've implemented a Guestbook search function , as a lot of people are putting queries and information about their ancestors there. From the search facility, we hope to move towards a genealogical database where people can build their own ancestral trees.

There are also a few new links in the links page, which allow for searches against various resources, such as emmigrant passenger lists, transportation records and more.

Castle information added

McGrath Castle, Abbeyside
The castle was built by Donal McGrath in co-operation with the O'Briens of Comeragh in the 12th century. These are the same families who donated land nearby to the Augustinians for the building of the Abbey
