1995 A classmate and I started our college's first newspaper in almost 15 years, called the Underground
1996 Started working part-time on the college's new 'paper, called the Grapevine, catching up with outstanding advertising debts as well as editing and writing.
1996 to 1998 Began a European Union Distance Learning project with other staff members in the college, involving running the website and designing course material. This project lasted two years on a part-time basis
1997 Now working full-time on the Grapevine as Editor
1997 - 2000 Built and maintained the Students' Union website
1997 Worked the Summer vacation in Bausch & Lomb Contacts Lens, the European HQ, which is based in Waterford city. I continued an earlier development of the factory's Intranet site.
1997 to Present Carried out Graphic Design briefs with clients in Waterford City, including various nightclubs, pubs and businesses.
1997 Began two projects with different divisions of Bausch & Lomb, building Help Desk and Time management applications into the Intranet site. These projects continued for two years on a contract basis.
1998 to May 2002 Returned to full-time post as Editor of the College newspaper. During my time with the Students' Union I have also produced three Freshman handbooks and a calendar, as well as acting as the liaison between the Union and the local and national press.
1998 to 2002 Started work on a new project with Pikewood Advertising. This involved creating video advertisements for display on an outdoor video screen. To date I have created over video ad's for over 40 clients.
1998 Edited and designed my Grandmothers book about her life, entitled Down Memory Lane
2000 Designed and implemented a stock control system in Visual Basic for Circle.net, an information console manufacturing company.
2000 Created a website for Paul Kennedy, owner of Shefflin's pub in Waterford City
2001 to Present Created two websites for a local businessman, John McGrath, a site for his family name and one for his pub, Tir na Nog
2001 to May 2002 Started renovations on the Students' Union website, creating a new dynamic and database driven site at www.witsu.com
2000 to 2001 Presented a radio show twice a week on the college Radio station.
2001 to Present Designed the website for the National Union of Journalists in the Southeast of Ireland. This site is fully database based.
2002 Took up role as the South East's representative on the National Council of the National Union of Journalists (Ireland).
October 2003 Created website for Meadowcourt Homes, a builder of housing in the South East of Ireland.
September 2003 Created website for Tom O'Brien Construction, a industrial building company in the South East of Ireland.
October 2003 - present Began working in the Technical Support Department of AOL Waterford |
